Trustee and Treasurer Trustee
Unlock has achieved a great deal for the people we support and that is testament to the talents of our dedicated team of staff, volunteers and trustees. Through listening to and supporting people who face difficulties because of their criminal records we have an impressive track record of identifying issues, finding solutions, and putting them into practice. We take what we learn from our frontline work and use it to influence policy and create systemic change.
Whilst we are a small charity we punch above our weight; we’re resourceful, impactful and work efficiently with like-minded organisations so that, together, we can achieve our aims. We are widely recognised as the go-to organisation in this arena. Our commitment to building a team, including our board of trustees, that includes people who have met with the disadvantages of having a criminal record plays a large part in our success.
We currently have specific skill gaps on our board and are keen to hear from candidates with experience in public law and candidates with charity finance experience who would be able to act as Treasurer.
For both roles, we’re seeking people with a professional qualification and significant practitioner experience in the relevant field.
We are committed to increasing diversity across the organisation, so it’s important to us that our board of trustees includes people with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. That way we can make decisions which reflect the world in which we live and improve outcomes for people with criminal records. We encourage and welcome applications from candidates who are from racialised communities, have a disability or are who are from a less privileged background.
