1. Make a donation Unlock is the only charity dedicated to supporting people with convictions. It does not deliver government contracts. Its beneficiaries are often unemployed and in poverty. It relies on charitable grants and donations to survive. No matter how small, all donations are very important to us. Just £10 can pay for a serving prisoner from a local resettlement prison to travel to the office to volunteer and work on our Information & Advice Service, thereby helping both their own resettlement and those of others. Online You can donate online by clicking the 'Donate Now' button below. To view our profile on theBigGive.org.uk, click here. By Post You can complete a donation form, print and return by post to Unlock, 35a High Street, Snodland, Kent, ME6 5AG. Donating in other ways If you would would like to donate in any other way (e.g. by standing order), please email enquiries@unlock.org.uk. 2. Raise money through sponsorship We are very grateful for those who want to donate to us by raising money through sponsorship. A great example is the money that Christopher Stacey raised in 2010 by running the London Marathon. You can read more about this here. If you are interested in raising money through sponsorship, please get in touch by emailing enquiries@unlock.org.uk with details of what you'd like to do. We'll then be able to send you a sponsorship form and more details. Alternatively, if you have a fundraising idea, you can create a fundraising page on Unlock's 'Everyclick' account - you can raise sponsorship through this platform, with the money getting donated to Unlock. Click the above link, select 'Give now', and then choose 'Create your own fundraising page'. 3. Buy a book Going Straight was the flagship publication for the launch of nlock in 1999 and comprises interviews with people who have succeeded after being in prison, often having had what is often described as 'a criminal career'. All royalties are paid to Unlock. 7. Leave a legacy Remembering Unlock in your Will is simple and as well as helping us continue our much-needed work, gifts to charities are free from Inheritance and Capital Gains tax and so may help to reduce the level of tax payable on your estate. Leaving a legacy to Unlock can be done when you first make your Will, by drafting a new Will or by adding a simple Codicil. Find out more by downloading our guide. If you decide to leave a legacy, please fill in our Pledge Form. |
