Recruitment policies The following policies apply to the recruitment of both employees and volunteers. Equal Opportunities Policy Disclosure of Convictions Policy Current vacancies Trustee Vacancies Voluntary role, Closing date: 14th June 2013 Unlock is an award-winning charity, established in 2000 by people with convictions, to assist others in overcoming the long-term disadvantage caused by convictions that prevent them from moving on in their lives and reaching their potential. People with convictions play a leading role as board members, employees and volunteers. Based in Kent, we provide a national service working with (a) people with criminal convictions and their families, and (b) intermediaries, including employers, financial services, resettlement service providers, advice agencies and local/central government, to achieve outcomes at both individual and systemic levels. Unlock offers practical advice, support, information, knowledge and skills. Although small in size, we have a powerful track record of listening to individuals, identifying patterns and influencing policy, across departmental and sector boundaries, by ensuring the voices of people with convictions are heard by people that can make a strategic impact on their lives. We are now looking for new trustees with the skills, experience, energy and ideas to ensure sound overall governance and strategic direction of the organisation. We particularly welcome applications from people with criminal convictions. These are voluntary positions, though travel expenses are payable. Please download a letter from the Chair of Trustees, and an Application Pack, below.
